Track season is starting soon and it is time to examine your shoes! Running is a fairly inexpensive sport, but you still need to make sure you have the proper equipment. A lot of people overlook one of the most important parts of running – your shoes!
YOU NEED GOOD RUNNING SHOES!!!!!
I cannot stress to you enough how incredibly important your shoes are to staying healthy and injury free. I recommend going to a specialty running store where the specialists will watch the way you walk or run and help you find the best fit for your feet and your running gait. There are many in the Clermont/Orlando area such as Gear for Multi-Sport, Track Shack, Fit2Run, etc. Every person is unique and requires a different fit and type of shoe. Running shoes need to fit with some growth room in the length so that your toes are not pounding against the toe of the shoe. Once you find a particular brand and model of shoe that works, then stick with it. Shoes need to be replaced every season, track, cross country, and summer, and occasionally more often if a youth athlete has a growth spurt. Worn out or improper shoes attribute to many injuries.
